Our inaugural release took a lot to put together and making wine in small batches is a labour of love.

We want the wines to be accessible and on your table, to be able to share the Dell’uva story with you and show how the Dell’uva ethos reaches through the vineyard and into your glass.

We are just getting some new pictures of the bottles done, so we can update our shop. In the meantime, you can order by downloading the form here, or by emailing us.

Syrah (2012)

SYRAHThis Syrah is made from clones imported from France, which are uniquely different to our Australian Barossa Shiraz clones. The style and flavor profile of Syrah made at Dell'uva Wines from these clones tend to be medium to full bodied and display softer tannins  and flavors of blackberry, mint and black pepper notes, as distinct from our Barossa Shiraz that is more consistently full-bodied with medium to high levels of tannins, jammier fruit and spice notes of liquorice and earthy leather.

Our Dell'uva Wines Syrah has a garnet-red colour, aromas of ripe plums and blackcurrants with a hint of French oak. Great mouth feel with plums, black fruits a hint of aniseed and soft velvety tannin finish.

Graciano (2012)

GracianoGraciano is a black-skinned grape variety that is rarely seen outside its home territory in northern Spain.  Graciano is one of those grape varieties that is more likely to be found on the back label than the front. It is highly prized for its intense aromatic properties, but notoriously low-yielding in the vineyard. Consequently, it is not widely planted and typically appears alongside Tempranillo and Garnacha in various interpretations of the red Spanish blends. At Dell’uva Wines we live with Graciano’s low yields, but are rewarded with the most delicious of wines.

Graciano has intense aromatics of red cherry, rose petal and ripe plums. Colour is rich with purple hues, dark fruits on palate with soft balanced tannins and good acidity. An ideal match with charcuterie.

Grenache (2012)

Grenache Grenache was made famous by French wines, and is also called Garnacha in Spain. Grenache was one of the first varieties to be introduced to Australia in the 18th century and eventually became the country's most widely planted red wine grape variety until it was surpassed by Shiraz in the mid 1960s. Early Australian Grenache was a main component in the sweet fortified wines that were the lynchpin of the early Australian wine industry. Grenache is now becoming popular in Australia like its French counterparts as a high quality red wine. At Dell’uva Estate we grow a range of Australian Grenache clonal selections and some imported Garnacha clones from Spain. Dell’uva Wines also has access to 93 year old, dry grown, old bush vine Grenache.

Grenache exhibits slightly perfumed wild cherry aromatics, cherry red in colour with soft juicy raspberry and forest berry flavours. It has a spiced, nutmeg note on the soft finish.

Dolcetto (2013)

Dolcetto is a black wine grape variety widely grown in the northwest Italy. In Italy Dolcettos are now being made in a bigger, bolder styles resulting in more age-worthy wines. Some producers are using new and old oak to age the wines. As a result, there are various styles of Dolcetto in the market place. The better ones by far are the more modern interpretations. Here in Australia, Dolcetto is used mainly for making Rosé styles but at Dell’uva Wines we are leading the charge in making Dolcetto in this bold, modern interpretation.

Dolcetto has a fresh dark cherry, fruity bouquet and intense ruby-red colour; the palate shows delicate red fruits, a silken texture and a soft round finish. The second vintage of this we have produced, the variety continues to astound, showing elegance with a prettiness of fruit, but structure and a firm palate.

Tempranillo / Garnacha (2013)

We have five clones of Tempranillo and two Spanish Garnacha clones growing at Dell'uva Wines estate vineyard that we blend to produce this exceptional food friendly wine.

Tempranillo has been grown on the Iberian Peninsula since the time of Phoenician settlements. It is often referred to as Spain's noble grape. The grape has been planted throughout the globe. Tempranillo has a relatively neutral profile so it is often blended with other varieties, such as Garnacha and Mazuelo.

Grenache is a French variety called Garnacha in Spain where it has been growing for hundreds of years. In Spain, there are a monovarietal wines made of Garnacha tinta (red Grenache), notably in the southern Aragon wine regions, but it is also used in blends, as in some wines with Tempranillo.

A Spanish blend of two great varieties showing mulberry, raspberry aromas with cherry red colour hue. Medium bodied wine with black cherry, strawberry and perfumed flavours with a spicy overtone. The soft fine tannins result in a wine to come back for again and again!

Sangiovese (2013)

At home in Italy, the Sangiovese grape enjoys the long, slow summers here in the Barossa. The grape needs a long ripening period to develop the layers of spice and character which are best shown with food. Fine acids and tannin round out the wine, with a savoury mid-palate matching the ripe fruits.

Grenache (2013)

Grenache can be such a chameleon - from luscious, almost-but-not-quite-sweet rosé styles, through to dense, chewy styles high in alcohol and tannin. And everything in between. Our grenache, as with all of our wines, is a food wine. Balanced purity of fruit, with fine tannins, and hint of acid livening the palate, and a delicacy. However, she is not shy - rather leaping out of the glass with a vibrant aroma, and following through with notes of wild herbs, deep plum and bright cassis, with a savoury edge. A wine to keep, perhaps.

Primitivo needs a careful eye in the vineyard. A long, slow ripening period is key, with a care to ensure the fruit sugars remain relatively low. Again - a food wine. The spice character in the wine is quite distinctive, balanced by an earthy character and a fine acid lift on the finish. This wine will evolve in the bottle over many years to come.

Amphora Nero d'Avola 2014

This lovely variety from Sicily Nero d'Avola is  made in the traditional amphora - a bees waxed lined ceramic vessel which helps to lift the aromatic qualities of the wine. So, a natural ferment, in a breathing vessel. Using these ceramic vessels heightens the aromatics in the wines, and retains a vibrant palate profile. This wine is a little unusual at first as it has had 145 days of skin contact but is a great way to showcase excellent quality fruit.

Nero d'Avola is an Italian grape variety, most commonly found in Sicily. A dry style, with firm tannins, the fermentation in amphora leaves a lifted, highly aromatic wine, suited to lighter meats and oily fish, hard cheeses and cured meats.

Verdicchio 2016

VerdicchioThe Verdicchio vine has been cultivated in the regions of east central Italy, to which it is probably native, since the 1300s, but virtually nowhere else. Named for the yellow-green hue of the grapes. Verdicchio is “the favourite son” making it the most important white grape in the east central region of Italy.

At Dell’uva Wines estate vineyard we are the only producer in Australia of Verdicchio. Depending on vinification techniques Verdicchio wines can be rich in bouquet and structure, sometimes even capable of ageing for ten years or more.

Verdicchio’s pale colour, the nose displays floral, perfume and lavender with some of those pink/purple confectionery lollies from way back. wonderful flavours of dried mango and a soft finish on the palette rounds out this lovely varietal. this wine is a superb match with Asian and spicy foods.

Arinto 2016

Arinto1The Arinto grape is a white grape variety, and is one of the “oldest indigenous varieties” in Portugal. Arinto is grown mainly in the regions around Libson on the central coast. The climate in this area is hot and humid, and Arinto does well with its naturally high acidity. At Dell'uva Wines Estate here in the Western Ridge of the Barossa our hot summers are a perfect match for Arinto's preferred Portuguese climate. Arinto's medium-sized bunches are very compact with small grapes. In the region directly north of Lisbon, Arinto makes up most of the blended white wines.

Aromatics of ripe pear and green melon, this wine has a soft yet zesty finish which is a great accompaniment for Asian dishes.  Arinto ages well and can take on rich peach flavour. A very exciting variety for us here in the Barossa - and the only example in Australia!

Albarino 2016

Albarino1Albariño (Alvarinho) home is the region of Galician Spain, and northwest Portugal. Albariño grapes' thick skins contribute to their intense aromas. Typically, its wines are very sweet-smelling, often described as having scents of almonds or almond paste. Albariño shares many of the same terpenes also found in the other aromatic varieties: Gewürztraminer, Muscat, and Riesling. Its thick skin and rot-resistant grapes are perfectly suited to the Dell’uva Wines Estate here in the Barossa.

Full of personality, a dry straw colour with a complex nose of toasted crumbs and yeasty overtones. Displaying fresh flavours reminiscent of quince, almonds, ginger and lemon, this wine is a wonderful match for pork or beef dishes. Enjoy!

Rose of Pinot Noir (2014)

Pinot Noir100% Pinot Noir grapes have been used to make this Rose of Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir grapes are picked and put through the de-stemmer to remove stalks and left overnight in a cool room to macerate with the skins. The following morning the juice and skins are pressed off, and the juice that has been coloured by the 12 hour skin contact is then fermented dry. At Dell'uva Wines our Rose of Pinot Noir is completely dry, not sweet with remaining residual sugar.

This results in a finished wine that can be served chilled, is highly aromatic, aromas of rasberry and strawberry, crisp and full of flavour fresh red fruits and a smooth finish without residual sugar.
