Albariño (Alvarinho) home is the region of Galician Spain, and northwest Portugal. Albariño grapes' thick skins contribute to their intense aromas. Typically, its wines are very sweet-smelling, often described as having scents of almonds or almond paste. Albariño shares many of the same terpenes also found in the other aromatic varieties: Gewürztraminer, Muscat, and Riesling. Its thick skin and rot-resistant grapes are perfectly suited to the Dell’uva Wines Estate here in the Barossa.
Full of personality, a dry straw colour with a complex nose of toasted crumbs and yeasty overtones. Displaying fresh flavours reminiscent of quince, almonds, ginger and lemon, this wine is a wonderful match for pork or beef dishes. Enjoy!
