Graciano is a black-skinned grape variety that is rarely seen outside its home territory in northern Spain. Graciano is one of those grape varieties that is more likely to be found on the back label than the front. It is highly prized for its intense aromatic properties, but notoriously low-yielding in the vineyard. Consequently, it is not widely planted and typically appears alongside Tempranillo and Garnacha in various interpretations of the red Spanish blends. At Dell’uva Wines we live with Graciano’s low yields, but are rewarded with the most delicious of wines.
Graciano has intense aromatics of red cherry, rose petal and ripe plums. Colour is rich with purple hues, dark fruits on palate with soft balanced tannins and good acidity. An ideal match with charcuterie.
